So no bolts on Friday and none yet today (although UPS gets her very late in the day). I have requested a tracking number so we will see what happens from there. They said 5-7 days, but did not specify just days or business days. I should know something from them today.

I have no other updates as of now. I did some checking on the batch of bars that failed and the only thing I could figure was that it was bad welding rods. (Don't worry, I checked the others and they are fine and I disposed of the bad rods and bars.)

I am #2 on this group buy... i have not posted on any thread until now. I would rather get the right thing the first time then get something that "might" work. Yes we have all waited a long time on this group buy... But look at what we are getting and the price we paid. Anyone who has any experience in project management will tell you, if you want it good and cheap it will not be done fast... I think glenn is doing a good job on keeping us updated. Nope. Still no bolts. Trust me, I am irritated as all hell. I ordered them from Maryland Metric (The 3rd company) and now they claim they never got my order. It has pissed me off enough that this will be the only group buy on these bars. Once this order is filled I will not be offering them anymore. I am no longer taking new orders for them either. This has become too much of a pain. I will put another call into mdmetric today and see what the current status is.

I just got off the phone with the secretary at Maryland Metric and she said that there was bad news. My first thought was that I was not getting the bolts. But she said they were in transit from wherever and would not be there (Maryland) until Wednesday or Thursday of next week. They would then ship to me. She said that the reason it took so long was that they had to special order them. It seems the sales guy was just excited about making the sale that he did not check on the availability of these bolts. They had to have them made! Custom bolts for custom tiebars! LOL! So anyway, she said that shipping from them to me is about 3 days (Sorry, but I can not afford $64.00 for over night!!) So that puts them in my posession (if they do not delay in shipping them) Tuesday Sept 10th. And I will begin shipping the next day.

Hey glenn, I got a ? for ya. I got an email from you a while ago asking what I needed as far as the design of the bars and my address etc. I replied to your message, but didnt get any confirmation from you as to whether you actually got the message or not. So did you get my message (I am Toney McClain by the way)

I am close to getting my lathe and tap and die kit ready to make some of these bolts. What size and how long do they need to me? I can find some hardened steel rods, lathe down parts of it to the right size, cut the bar, cut the hex on the top for a socket or wrench, and chase the die down the rod to make threads of the appropriate size... Seriously, though, can't wait for them to finally come in. I have never had any issues with MD Metric, though. I use them all of the time for work.

Actually, yes. It cost me more to make them then what I charged. That is why I said before that if there was to be a second buy that they would be more. ;) It is no ones fault other than my own. OH, and it was not a full first batch that failed. I build them in batches of 12. It was only 12 that failed. ;) But thanks for the positives. :)

Also: As of 10am EST there is still no bolts. If they do not show up today (UPS comes late) I will call tomorrow and see what the deal is.
