993, how to launch AWD

haha, ok my friend needs some help. He owns a 91 TSI AWD. I race him all the time and kick his @$$ up and down the block. He isnt a very good racer but i know he can beat me if he just learns to launch. Anyways, what are some good tips i could give him to launching? TIA!

is he manual or auto?? that makes a diff.
also, how strong or how many miles are on his tranny or clutch??
manual, id say drop it at 4-5k auto, i dunno... i bet he bogs like crazy at the line...

he is manual and has like 175,000 miles on the engine. Hey bogs like a bad mother f'er omg! haha, that is why i win all the time. But he thinks he knows everything about racing no matter how much advice i try to give him. he wants to shift at 4500 in every gear while racing. o well...

well i dunno bout DSM's but on WRX's i have found that revving to around 5000 then slipping or feathering the clutch. Yes i know it is bad for the clutch but that is the only way i found to decently launch. it throws u back in the seat and it lets out a nice chirp. chirping AWD is niiiice. aite good luck peacEee
