721, Gettin freaked out....

okok, here's the situation...

I keep reading about manual gs's getting relatively high track times.
I recently raced a 2001 v6 stang and kept up pretty well... we got to about 90 before we had to slow down... by that point i was 1 to 1 1/2 car lengths behind him. He later told me his last 1/4 mile time was 14.1. he's got wide tires on rear, cold air, dual exhaust, alcohol injection, p&p on top intake, and underdrive pulley.we went from red light.. BTW, I have a 96gs stick with short ram intake, exhaust, and small weight reduction..

The thing is, i've never been to the track to test my car, so i'm getting worried when people with similar cars are gettng such high 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile times...
I feel i will be pleasently surprised or recieve a rude awakening the first time. haha....hmmmmmmm
okok
lemme know if i'm being ignorant.
Later,
K

If he runs 14.1s and you were only 1 1/2 car lenghts behind him at 90 mph, then you were running at least high 14's if not mid 14's

Sorry, he's pulling your leg on the low 14's, your car with those mods can't run 14's

Alright, this doesnt make much sense. I'll give you an estimate on what I think your car is running from another post you made. You said you raced an Si with two passengers. I'm assuming the Si had at least an intake and exhaust. With a pro driver, and considering the Si had in the vicinity of 300lbs of passenger, I'd say the best the Si would click off at the track with a perfect launch would be a low/mid 16. AT BEST. Perfect conditions. Seeing how he beat you, I'd say your in the mid/high 16's more than likely. Seeing how you kept a few cars behind what was probably a mostly stock V6 mustang that runs mid/low 16's, I'd say you were in the mid 16's. Find yourself a 97 5 speed Mustang GT and see how you do against that. Thats a true high 14/low 15 second car. Not just something some dude bragged to you about.
