Last friday night at NED, I knew it would be a cool day so I swapped my regular all seasons back on and gave it a try, figuring at least some traction is better than no traction in the cold (as the drag radials won't do anything when it is too cold out).

There was almost no one there so I was able to get quite a lot of runs, and I needed them at the beginning. I needed 6 runs to get a good enough launch out of the car with the all seasons in the cold. I found if I kept the RPMS at 5k during the entire launch so I stay in the power band of the car, let the clutch out easily so the tires spun a little, but just a little not too much, I was able to do rather well.

Once I got the launch "dialed in" I ran four 15.2s in a row, with the best of the night being 15.20 at 90.7mph, and a 2.30 60' time. Almost matched my best time with a 2.30 60' versus a 2.20 60' on my best run of 15.173. The cold air must have helped, with the AFX ecu a little too I guess (I didn't run the ecu with my best run last year).

Other than that, one NEDSM club member (Doug K.) ran a 9.80, which isn't bad :-o hehe it is just amazing to see a DSM do that.
