I hestitate to post this up because of the shitty time but take the good with the bad.

I was able to get out of work and hit the local rental day at LVD (Lebanon Valley NY). Cold as witches titties and with no sun but no rain. Still got a little hook but lots of track wet downs (guys if you go to the track ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A TRACK CAR put water in your cooling system. It works better than coolant and it doesn't shut down the track for an hour each time you blow a hose. And yes, two of them were HONDUH race only cars). Maybe 2 1/2 hours of actual racing time.

First run I lost an intercooler T clamp. Second run warm up drive train 14.6 @ who cares. Third run, warm up drivetrain again (coolant on track) 13.1 @ who cares. Fourth run hit it a little harder 12.6 @ I forgot. Fifth run, change shift points to stay in boost 11.4 @ 119.62 (with a 1.845 launch).

BUT, I stoopidly forgot to hit my switch to turn the water to air intercooler on. So I pretty much went down the track with no "intercooling" on a BW366 @29lbs. Not the best of ideas.

Just before the end of the track, I had an explosion of water and steam come up out of my hood vent (that's right NO COOLANT!). Lost the upper radiator hose. Figured I popped the HG because I didn't hit the switch, but when I got home I checked it out and it seems like the clamp just broke.

Well short version; I was stupid and tried to blow up my car. Car as it sits is good for 10's, if only the driver would do it!! Duh

awesome time mark. your story is quite humurous too. Consider yourself lucky and a nice little learning experience. :)

You should try my technique.

When car sits over winter, keep regular glycose coolant/water in the block...

When summer hits and its time to drive, drain glycose and flush. Refill with water wetter and purified water.

Nevertheless, still a good run with no intercooling :thumbsup

Thanks Mike. The thing that pisses me off so much was that three of the cars that pissed on the track were RACE cars. Damn, these guys should know better.

Gracias, senorita ;-) Yeah, that's pretty much how I viewed it. That's why I was so disappointed with the time. Especially when this will probably be my last shot this year. Honestly (now that I have time to sit and think about it) the time is good. Just disappointing.

lol, I got that a lot from my racing buddies. Like John Shep's note about his chute, I should put a big note about my W/A switch.

Or here's a novel idea; why don't I hook the pump up to my ignition accessories power?! Yeah, I know. I hooked it up separately to the battery for ease of troubleshooting etc. while I set it up. I just never got around to re-routing the wire. Knowing my lazy ass, I'll probably NOT do it over the winter.

Doh! So close. oh well, we all make mistakes. Kick ass next time for us! and beat some hondas for me
