5676, 1st track pass with MS, 1st pass of 2k7 as well

I went to a private track rental at Norwalk today and decided to make 1 shakedown pass before heading home. (The track prep was actually the worst that I've ever seen at NRP. In the right lane cars were blowing their tires off like no other. I saw a GTO go pretty much sideways at the 330 mark after smoking the hell out of his tires to that point.)

At any rate I was on pump gas, 18 psi, and these joke of Nitto 450 street tires. 13.44 @ 114.92. I was pretty pleased as this was really only 2 gears worth of power. I spun very badly under boost in 1st and 2nd. Looking at the log I shifted at 5300 in 2nd b/c I was raping the tires so bad. Spun halfway through third. Like I said the prep was a joke. I'm hoping for some good times at the re-Shootout 2007 on the 13th. I'm really happy that I went with the Megasquirt, the car feels stronger than its ever been. I need to get this thing on a damn dyno to see where its at.

Another success story. The poor man's AEM, but well worth it.

I found that private rentals usually kinda suck on track prep (depending on when and where and what event is coming up after the rental).

From what you describe, 13.4 with those traction problems, you could be looking at low 12's or breaking into 11's if you get your hook-up set-up. Sounds interesting.

I honestly believe this car has a LOT in it. It picked up 30 mph on the big end once it stopped spinning. I'm pretty excited, the car has never felt this strong.

I'm kinda worried about putting better tires on the car b/c i'm on borrowed time with this clutch. I'm more of a roll racer to be honest so as long as it will hold from a 40 roll I'm happy. I may do it just to get the car deep into 12's.

With all that spinning going on, it doesn't sound like you have a clutch problem, lol.

Yeah, I understand the apprehension. But look on the bright side, if you smoke that clutch, that's just motivation to get another one. Ever think about a set of steelies to race with (for the traction)?
