4657, first time at track last night kinda disappointed
Posted by baxsom, Feb-24-05 02:12 AM
so last night i went to the track for the first time
i must say
i need practice

i think that my launching technique is the problem because had good mph just my time sucks
i know the power is there
at 7 psi it put 225 to the wheels so at 11 i should be in the 14's i think
i ran 2 at 6psi and 2 at 11 psi
i dont have my wideband yet but
pocketlogger says 02 voltage is .98-1.0
and egt was running about 1450 at WOT
i am rich as hell

anyway here are my best 6 and 11 psi runs

6 psi 11psi
reaction 1.29 1.50
60ft 2.54 2.55
1/8 10.24 10.00
1/8 mph 73.48 76.26
1/4 15.69 15.08
1/4 mph 89.48 97.47

id definetly appreciated some constructive advice but please be gentle. it was my first runs afterall

AT or MT?

What type of tires?

And how do launch?

2.5 60' is a no-no lol.

MT

tires are yokohama parada spec II's

i am still on a learning curve on how to launch
too much clutch dumping and not enough clutch slipping
of course i am not sure how much more my stock original clutch can handle

well at the track i was able to get a 2.232 with just dumping the clutch at 4k. just find what rpm's your tires require so you don't bog... its trial and error, or you can do it the hard way and try slipping it just right... either way launching is hard on the tranny and clutch and shits gonna break.

work on your launches, i def. think you could get a mid 14 w/ 97mph

thanks for the input
i started to get decent at slipping it practicing on some secluded streets outside of town but now
i am going to have to learn all over again because the stock clutch finally starting slipping last week

hard launch wether i dump it or slip it
or cruising speed to WOT as soon as the boost comes on
rpms shoot up then go back down as the clutch starts to catch
