4395, 88 mph?

whats an 88 mph trap good for?
i was checking through my slips (from last summer 03)
and i was turning 88 mph traps, but only running 16.8
my 60' were all right around 2.4.
my mods were header, catback exhaust and cai. i also had heavy
ass 18" wheels and 2 12's in the back, full interior.

granted, i know my 60' sucked but that was also my first time ever
at the track. since then, i have added afx udp, afx solid front mount
dropped the 18's (back on 14" stockers) and 12's and took out back
seat, spare tire and jack and all accessories. and the normal plugs,
wires, SD coil and a test pipe.

i dunno why i made it a long ass post, i was really just wondering
what an 88 mph was good for? lol

edit: also, i havent been back to the track since then. i'm hoping
to go before they close for the season

Going back in time. 2800 pound car with an 88mph trap should be around roughly 150hp.

For a manual tranny car, with a good launch, an 88 mph trap will put you in the 15s, about a 15.7 or so.

bwhahaha

and i ran a 15.0 @ 91mph with a 2.232 60' does it make sense that 3mph diff is a diff of 1.8 seconds? i am confused.

it has to do with launch time and shifts ... u got the potential of your car he has yet to tap it

i run 87 MPH and run 16.0 depending on the day with my steelies on. With my dads 17" enkeis i run bout 16.3 with a 87 MPH. Considering your car is fairly heavy, that is not too bad of a time IMO.

yeah, my car feels like its a pretty good runner, i just gotta learn
how to drive the damn thing. i've been getting better at lauching it
(at least it seems like it, haven't been to the strip since then)
my only problem seems to be shifting. well not shifting per say but
just my left leg lol. i have a habit of not shifting until the clutch
is all the way in and not letting off until its in the next gear.

Todd, i should've just looked at your sig for a comparitive time...
minus about half a second for lack of driving skill lol
how do you do it?
