4185, Bad day at the TRACK!!! =<
Posted by 96rs-t, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
last time i went to the track i hit mid 15's, 15.5 being my best...this was with just my stage 1 hrc kit set at 5psi.

well, now i have my 3 inch apexi N1 exhaust. and i expected obviously a better time. However last time i went to the track with no exhaust i had on my 14's on. this time i had my GSX rims with a 50 series tire, and oh boy...i only had 2 runs and i only hit 16.1 & 16.2!!!! yeah i know.

so just wanted to aske yall, do you think my GSX rims slowed me down that much, i mean thats a hellava difference. from 15.5 with stock exhaust VS. 16.1 with a 3 inch exhaust. could it be the rims or do you think something could be wrong with my car...

my car seems to run just fine..i see no problems.

edit: oh by the way...an EVO smoking a Viper by like 5 cars...these 2 went at it 4 times..and the EVO smoked the Viper each time..nice!

^^^tell me about it dood. my 60 ft times last time with stock exhaust was 2.4, this time i hit 2.55

*edit*= another thing that sucks, is my 3rd gear, once i pop into 3rd i lose so much rpm's its ridiculous. I know our 3rd gear sucks na, but i heard here that once you go turbo that its not a prob anymore...not in my case though :shrug

Usually third gear is strong on turbo cars. Mine is. I don't know what would cause your rpm to drop that much.

Its all in the launch and 60ft..If you got a 2.5 60ft, thats not good..A "good" 60ft time for us FWD would be a 2.0, and if you can get that, that would bring your end ET to a 14.5..yeah, a full second..For every tenth you take off your 60ft time, you loose 2 tenths on your end 1/4 time..A 14.5 for 5 psi would be pretty darn good i would say..but you need a good launch, 60ft, and quick shifts..I usually short shift first, just enough to get the car moving a bit, then shift to second,go till around 6500, then hit third to around 6800, then just a bit of fourth gear to pass the line..

It's all good, any 60' time under 2 seconds is considered invalid around here!
