Went to the track yesterday (Bremerton Raceway for those in the NW) and posted 4 times faster than my previous personal best of 15.625.

15.582@88.95
15.549@89.10
15.521@89.02
And the big one:
15.463@88.57 :thumbsup

I really don't know why my MPH was down on that one. I wish I could tell you what the 60' was on that particular run but the reflector for the timer wasn't aligned right. All the other runs had 2.2x 60' times. I actually had one other run with a 2.15 60' time, but I missed 2nd gear badly and only ran a 16.09@87. Before anyone goes nuts about the 60' times, I do have BFG Drag Radials. 225/50-15s set to 22psi if that helps anyone.

I've still got a little tuning to do on the AFC to get it perfect, but it was nice to actually see some noticable improvements over last year. An EGT is needed to make sure I don't melt anything and a new clutch considering this one has over 70k on it.

Great job getting that 1/4 mile time down! You were at 15.6s for a while, so it's good to see you in 15.4s now.

It looks like I'm not the only one who has been running faster times lately. Good thing those new cams are about ready to be installed. ;)

Todd - I've got cams too, but they were too damn big. MAP saw no vacuum and dumped fuel. I've been considering slapping them back in and seeing if I can get them to run with the AFC, but I'm still a little scared. Don't want to spend that much time to find out I gotta put the stockers back in again.

I still have a little work to do on my 60' times. I can't seem to get any momentum off the line. The one run I had with the 2.15 60' time was gonna be fast but I foobarred the 1-2 shift.

The race is on for the 14s!!!! Congrats to whoever get's there first.

I gues the race to 14s is on!

The cams I got are probably the mildest aftermarket ones you can get, the crane #10s, so I'm not too worried about the car running poorly.

That's no fun... whether my car has problems or not at the moment, she sounds like a lumpy bast at idle. I didn't think the GS-T Muffler could sound like that... heheeehehee.

I can't be that mild. I'll have something with the lift of the 20s or 22s with the duration of the 16s. That way, the ECU will still get enough vacuum to idle properly, and have enough lift and duration to make really good power.

What I'm really waiting for it that Indy manifold. Stuff a Modern Performance 60mm TB on that and you're in business.

>I can't be that mild.

Yea, I've heard other people say the same thing about what they would have choosen for their cars.

Well, I'm just a big wimp I guess, since I want my torque curve to remain relatively flat. :P

Then bump that compression up and gain throughout the rpm range...

That's exactly what I did. Milled the head while it was off and getting cleaned. Calculations are that I'm at 10.6:1 compression. But I haven't had the cam timing issue that others have had. The stockers go back dead on with no issues.

Either way, it's going to be fun. It's good to see more people going after improving the performance of the 2GNTs. What's interesting is that there are a lot of people that actually have way more power mods than Todd, Michael or I, but don't go to the track to see what their cars can do. I have a feeling there are already 14 second cars amongst us. They just haven't proven it yet.

I think so, but remember the driver is just as much a part of the equation as the car!

that's right, and todd is a hell of a driver.

And my car is about 150lbs heavier than Todd's. Last time I weighed the car, it as 3065 with me and a 1/4 tank of gas. Basically the exact setup I go to the track with.

I'd like to see exactly how much weight I can pull from the car and still keep it livable on a daily basis. Pulling the AC is not an option. My car is black.
