2850, Finaly A 14 Second Run Posted by lonnie1977, May-09-03 04:40 PM
Got my first 14 second run last night with the turbo. I was running at 8 psi on a 50/50 mix of 110 octane and 93 octane fuel.
60 ft 2.370 330 6.356 1/8 9.653 at 74.85 990 12.391 1/4 14.852 at 94.43
It was around 60-65 degrees with 100 percent humidity. It was a little foggy too(had been raining all day). Any body see any room for improvment here. Besides what is listed below I also have the ES motor mount inserts and Falken Azenis tires(There brand new and have mad traction). I just cant seem to the perfect RPM to leave at yet. I need to work on my 60 ft I know. Tires were at 30 psi. Any input would be appreciated.

oh my god, the track was clear enough last night to run? Wow, i decided not to go cuz of the rain, cuz the one time i tried goin the day after it rained, and they weren't even open.
Damn it, let me know next time you go Lonnie!
14.8 is pretty good. Besides perfecting your launch, i think you're on the right track. If you could cut .2 seconds of your 60', then you'd probably run 14.5-.4 How's your fuel? Running rich still?

I'd say you did VERY well. The key to running faster 1/4 times is the 60ft time. By every tenth you lower your 60ft, you take off 2 tenths in the end time. If you can get a 2.0 60ft, then you will be in the low 14's. Although getting a 2.0 60ft with turbo FWD on street tires, is very, very hard to do, not using drag radials, or true drag slicks. Good job :thumbsup

Yep! great run!
You alsmost exactly matched my 1/4 mile run on 7.5 psi.
I hope to up that amount in the future obviously, now, though! ;-)

Mystic it empty like you wouldn't believe. I could run come back around and get right back in the burnout box. Maybe 20 cars there at the most. As for tires I have as close as you can probably get to drag radials with out having them. I'll just have to keep praticing. Thanks guys.

haha Sweet dude! I see you brought it down a little more. I still need to get my exhaust, then I wanna go back to the track and see how I do. Or even now, so I can practice launching. Good job :thumbsup

What track did you go to that was so empty? I live in the Phillidelphia area. I just went to Cecili County Dragway on Wed. and it was PACKED. I'd love to find a track close by that isn't so crowded.

I was at Atco raceway. If you show up at 5 when the gates open you can get in 2 to 4 runs before it starts getting crowded. The later it is the worse it gets. By 7 it is pretty packed(everybody getting off work is finaly getting there) Atco is about 25 min from Philly depending on traffic. Let me know if you ever want to go. I believe Mystic wants to go again also.

Thanks Lonnie. I saw your response in the other thread. I'm definately interested in going. 7-8 runs is much better than the 2-3 that you can get at Cecil County.
I'm not sure if I can go next week, maybe the week after. My daughter's christening is that weekend, and I have a TON of stuff to get the house ready. But let me know whenever you want to go - you too Allen. It'd be good to have all 3 of us there. A small 2gnt contingent at Atco. That would be very cool.
