well I don't know anything about the Z24's, but my girlfriend's 2.2l Cavy is the slowest piece of shit on this planet! Hell it's slower than my S-10 was!

Are you guys who claim that you've killed Z24's sure they were Z24's? The RS cavy looks a lot like the Z24 but with 30 less hp. The 160hp Z24 is decent and would give a stock NT DSM a run from what I've seen.

are his chances really that bad? I've raced cavalier z24's and never even come close to losing? if I can get a good lead off the line, the race is over before it began.

Depends on how crappy a driver the other guy is. I raced a guy w/a z24 when I was stock w/and intake and got beat. That was a cavalier extreme(z24 w/stupid useless dual exhuast). It was brand new, and 5 speed.

I was thinking the same thing until Monday Night.

I came arcoss one and passed him he started to chase and I got ahead. I thought he wasn't going to race so I slacked off until I saw his windshield in my rear view mirror so I punched it. Left him behind. I thought they had better performance or this guy wasn't in the mood to race or his car sucked. So what I seen you can take him n/p.

Raced one today at track, so I have numbers to prove how you'd do against one:

Me: CAI, pacesetter, udp, springs/shocks
Cavalier: Altezzas, not sure what else, didn't see under the hood and it was stock exhaust.

We raced and cavalier had 16.653@85.42 with a 2.615 60' time
I had 16.199@85.45 with a 2.456 60' time.

It was a great race. The cavalier got the jump on me, but I caught up in first and second gear and passed it. In third gear, the cav slowly caught up to me again.

I got beat in reaction time (.774 to 1.229), so i actually crossed the line .0011 seconds after the cavalier.

I know, bad reaction time, but it kinda threw me off when we lined up and the driver was a girl! :o
Not that there's anything wrong with girl racers. Actually, i was happy that she won, talked to her afterword and it was her first real race... she even had to ask me to help translate the timeslip for her.

In conclusion: Cavaliers can be fast. They pull real hard in third, so you need to get a good jump on one.

holy cow.. and just think how much she would have DUSTED you if you actually launced the car well.. that 2.6 60ft is terrible! hehe.

Yea, i was thinkin the same thing, but actually, i don't know. We pulled the same trap speed, and her launch would have only improved her e.t. Her trap speed would be relatively the same. I think maybe she would have ran a 16.2 at best if she pulled a 2.3-2.4. I think part of her problem is she's a slow shifter, which is why I caught up in second.

Those things pull hard in third gear though, I was shocked when she started coming back. It would be close though, i wouldn't be surprised if she did beat me after perfecting her launch.

i meant 'she would have dusted you more if SHE had launched better' hehe.. but you knew what I meant.. and if she dropped from a 2.6 to a 2.3 60ft.. that would have been a minimum of .6 off the 1/4 time.. most likely more.. so that'd put her at 16 flat in the 1/4 easy.

is supprising for a low HP NA car to pull on a eclipse in 3rd.. i always hear about them having a strong 3rd gear. my 3rd in my zx2 is weak.. hahah.. she's got all the gusto off the line and in 2nd completely owns.

i raced one yesterday, i know it atleast had a muff. with my fat ass brother(250lbs) in the car, he was about a hood ahead of me. i took my brother home and went back out to look for him but couldn't find him. next time his ass is mine though.
