It seems like in order to get any decent speed you have to spend $3000.00 for a turbo kit!! Or you could go the nitrous route, which so far is not an option for me.

I am now convinced I need to save up for turbo, yesterday I got beat by my friends '89 minivan(v6). We were on a highway and the light was red as we approached so we both slowed down, then it went green and I dont know if he was even racing (and he had 4 other people in it), but all I know is that I had my slomatic car floored (ac off, od off) and he pulled ahead of me and i couldnt get enough speed to even stay along side him =(

Fortunatly for me, I told him that I wasnt even racing because I didnt want to embarras him in his soccer-mom bitch van lol. I may be slow, but as least my ride looks a lot better than his...

Man, that 30 seconds is gonna cost me 3grand...

I know how you feel man. I raced my friend's 2000 grand am 4 cyl, and we were pretty much even with him winning by a little. This was with some bolt on mods on my car too :( NA, our cars just arent that fast really, esp with you having an automatic, which eats up more HP than the 5 spds..3000 for a turbo seems like a lot of cash, well it is, but IMO, its worth every penny..Try and drive a turbo'd 2gnt, you will be forever changed :) I sure was...now look at me..playin with higher HP v6's and some v8 cars now, instead of the other 4 bangers out there. Lots o fun :thumbsup

first why is n2o not an option for you? Me personnally i'll squeeze until the car is built strong enough on the bottom end for me to add boost and till i can purchase a turbo kit. i want boost but i'll squeeze till then.
