1281, went to the track tonight
Posted by rfpunch, May-23-02 02:43 PM
well this was my first time EVER at a 1/4 mile track. bristol 1/4 kinda sucks cuz the end of the track is 6 inches higher than the beginning. anyway, i got a 15.434 @91.45 MPH with a 2.489 60ft time. that was running 6psi or so. i didnt wanna run anymore than that because for one it was my first time, and two im still on stock exhaust except for the test pipe. anyone know what i might run if i were to get a better launch?

I think ur suppose to be a lot faster than that, I remember some foo in this forum ran 14.7 with stock exhaust and i think he only had 5psi

Well, number one, not every car is the same....so you can't say this guy ran this or whatever. Number two, get that 60' down to the 2.2 range and you should knock roughly another .4 off your quarter time. Having that stock exhaust on there is killing you. Get yourself a nice catback, work on your launches, take out any extra weight, and up your boost to 8psi and you have a recipie for low 14's! You are 5 speed right?

thanks for the advice strauss. i kinda figured the exhaust is keeping me down. im not gonna go back until i get mine mostly for peace of mind since my egts were getting a little high. and yeah i have a 5spd. it was kinda tough to launch cuz the bristol track slopes and i was starting to roll back a little bit at the tree.

dsmnt96 got 14.7 at 6psi w/ a 2.4 ft but I haven't seen anyone get better then mid to high 14's at 6psi especially w/ your stock exhaust. You and Jeff need your exhaust. By the way Im the guy who came to Carisle in Jeff's car if you didn't know. It was nice to see your car and good luck next time your at the track.
