How much horse power does and 89 gand prix have.. It has the 3.1L V6 engine.. im asking cuz the kid wants to race me. TIA

in 89 the 3.1 v6 from GM made about 140hp or so, you'd probably win if it's a manual vs manual or auto vs auto

3.1 is only available with an auto..so you should whoop ass! My friend has a Corsica with a 3.1 and it is ok up to 60...after that it dogs out. If it was the GTP it would have the DOHC 3.4 and could be auto ro stick..that would be really close..those are quick with a 5spd.
