Does anybody know "how" to take out the limiter? Or anything I can do to go over 120mph. A lot of people told me to change out the CPU, mess with the speed sensor... But, i don't know. I drive a 95 Eclipse RS. Anybody, please tell me. I can't let them punk ass Mustang Cobras beat me on the interstate. So PLEASE!!!

the only limiter you have is gear limited....GST's are the only 2nd gen. with speed limiter.

Yup, you just aren't making enough power to overcome the wind drag at that speed. Some of our stage 3 - 5 turbo guys have gone 150+

I hit 137 on a flat surface, in my 96 rs no problem, I might have been able to do more if there wasnt traffic in front of me.

going down a huge downhill, i hit 140+.. scary as hell because you dont realize how fast you need to brake before you run into the upcoming traffic :)

It is going to take more than that to beat a Cobra on the freeway. Heck..my old "box" 93 has no prob pegging the speedo past 140. BUT..I do reach the drag limits at about 4200 or so in 5th..only way to overcome it is more power. At least you have aerodynamics in your favor. My Probe has a 113mph limiter...but it is there for a reason..tires are only S speed rated..to 112. Soon as I get better tires..that's coming off!! My friend had his 95 GS to 140 I believe though....

I saw the needle pinned, at 170 on a stretch of flat road. I have smaller wheels/tires so it was prob close to 155-160 but i'ld say

I went till the speedo said 123 in 4th gear that was redline, i shifted into fifth and it kept pulling, but I ran up on traffic, saw a cop, braked, and got a ticket for 88 in a 70. I'm stock, what do you think it'll stop pulling at?

Had mine to around 140 all motor, when I hit N20, look out, it pulls pretty hard. I just went to about 145 then let off cause I don't need to be arrested...

i did 135 bone stock the second day after I got the car.

Our cars gear out at 152 at 7250rpms in 5th. I've done it and Murix has his 5th final drive changed from a neon so he can do more.

If you say you did 170 well you are lying. With final and 5th top speed is something ridiculous, and at least over 170

i've gone 140 in my old rs, on 14's too. a couple of friends of mine were goofing off while we were driving to san diego, hot import nights. went up to 140 easy, could of gone faster but i was scared that the tires would blow it was h-rated.

You shouldnt be redlining at 123mph

Ive had mine to 120+. That stupid turbo wing get some funky air flowing around it though. Makes the ass end of the car squirly.

I hit 132 mph on I-5. Scary shit man! You hit the smallest bump and you fly. She had more but that was plenty fast for me. The windshield wipers flew straight up. It was nutts. But yeah, she definately had more to go! If I remember right I was at like 5k in 5th gear doing 132 and still accelerating when I finally backed off.

i hit 130 the first day i had it.... that was fun, but i think when i get a turbo and some z- rated tires i will be able to have a lot of fun, i am thinking about going to that unlimited speed run in texas next year.

130 racing a new Celica GT on the highway after work one December night. Was going over a bridge slightly downhill, with a trooper at the bottom sitting with his lights off. My radar detector went off as we were slowing down passing him, going back uphill. He got us a mile later with anothet trooper at the next u-turn. Said we were going too fast for him to tag....makes me wish we would have kept on the throttle until we got out of line-of-sight. He tagged us at 93 in a 65. Had a nice judge and merged the drag racing (6 points) into a speeding ticket with 45 day suspension. Because I was going slightly downhill, I saw the cop at about 130mph and backed off....but 5th gear was slowing on the acceleration anyway. BTW, I walked the Celica, I never gave him a chance to pass ;P

I hit 150mph on my way to the track last weekend. I'm not sure what rpm I was at because I was too busy watching my EGT gauge, but she definitly had more in her :)

I have gone a 135mph, but how fast can my GS-T? With and without the speed limiter?

Finally after few mods, I finally made it up to 140mph but it was a slight down hill. I really want to hit atleast 160+. Do you know anybody that has hit 160+ with an FWD eclipse????

^^^i believe someone on here had his 160 or 170. i got up to 130 with just exhaust and cone filter.

Something wrong with your setup...make sure your wires, plugs, air-filter are all in good running shape. It could also be bad tires, blow-by in the engine...a series of things.

Something must be up with mine I have short ram air, full exhaust headers to muffler. For some reason I cant break the 120 mark what did you do in those few mods to hit 140.
