1035, Calling out 2gNT's to post there 1/4 mile times. Posted by BadDSM, Apr-25-02 08:45 AM
This may have been covered before but I am curious as to what kind of times you 2gNT guys(and gals)are getting with NA mods. Please list 1/4 mile times and traps with any mods that pertain to increased speed. No Razo shifter knobs please.. :)

My time is in the signature below. That was with a damaged short ram and exhaust only. Havent run since I upgraded the intake and other stuff. I'm positive my traps are in the 90mph range though, that I'm sure of.

i ran a 16.1@84mph.. it was at a high ass elevation track (palmdale, CA) and it messed with my numbers.. i had a shitty ass 60 so i should have been in the higher 15s with a decent launch.. goddamn launching, always my downfall!! did it with the mods listed below.

I ran a 16.4 at 84 with a 2.4 60' in 80 degrees humid weather of Florida. I had one run with a horrible 60' but an 88mph trap. Now thats with just bolt on's, I have some NICE all motor mods on the way that should help with my times a little bit.

i probably don't count, seeing as my car is turbocharged, but my best to date is in my sig. I am going again tonight... so we will see. I'll likely be in the high 13's this time, at 104-108.

Dino, if you are gonna be pushing 15psi this time you better at least get high 13's! You know with 15psi you should be in the LOW 13's to high 12's (with traction that is :) ) I want to see some good times out of that beast! As for myself, no times for me. I'm still in the process of putting all the shit in my sig in my car. But, I WILL be going to the track every Friday night once it finished. I didn't buy drag radials for nothin'! I have ran at the track though this year, not my car, my good friends Talon TSI AWD. I ran a 13.8@95mph on the stock T-25. We are gonna take it to the track once more with the T-25 and I'm sure we will get something around 13.5 considering we have done a few more things and have noticed a sgnificant power gain. Once again....good luck Dino!

Thanks Guys for your responces. Mid 15's seems to be the limit of bolt on performance for the NA 420a. Well at least for now. :)

Well, Jake and myself have hit 15.5s on bolt ons
As you pointed out, for now :) that will change
I still have more bolt ons to do, so I'll find out if I can get that time down. I'll keep everyone posted on how I do at the track this wednesday (if the weather holds)
Oh, badDSM, I'm not on dsmtalk, but I read it every now and then
I keep my eye on what's going on out there :wary

Actually, I think mid 15's isnt the limit with bolt ons. As I ran a 15.5 with JUST a short ram and an exhaust. No header, no pulley, no suspension, nada. In 90 degree weather none the less. I'm gonna finish my latest mods and prove myself right :D

Give it a while. I know the motor has more than that in it. I know the Eclipse varity has a different head and cams but I still bet 14's could be had with just bolt ons and mild weight redux. I bet major weight redux alone could get some of you mid 15 guys down close to a 15 flat.

My best e/t was 16.667 @ 83.75 mph with a crappy launch. My mods are NGK-BKR5E spark plugs and modified air box(just drilled holes in it).

I just posted mine in the Shoot Out post in the pits. My 17's help with my launch, but I think in the long run they are hurting me... but I have a solution planned.
Una salus victus. It's not about being invincible, it's about being ready; for anything.

I got a 16.3 @85mph, that was my first time at the track ever and I think I did OK. My launch was mad shitty though, with a good launch my car should be in the 15's. My performance mods are only a modded stock airbox and the exhaust. I had a 60' time of 2.58 so if I can bring it down to acceptable levels and not misshift I will do rather good

i'm not sure exactly what i ran, i do my 15 second speed was at 86, and thats with a horrible mis shift going into 3rd (slipt to 5th) i really think i could of been doing closer to 95 if i didn't do that.. it took a good second and a half away from me (or so it seemed lol) this is with an all stock car.. to my knowledge (bought it used)

it's amazing how different some of our cars are with similar mods. I think the good folks in normal, IL were like "hey, lets put 11:1 compression pistons in this one from the factory and not tell anyone, that'll be fun"
