So there is a little discussion about possibly using a different hotel this year. I called an made a reservation at the All American Inn & Suites today as usual. This year, the price is a bit steep. $662.12 for Thursday check-in and Monday check-out. Hotels.com has them listed at $663.45, while Priceline has it for $654.84. That's a bit steep.

Best Western was listed as $200/night average for the same time period.

Should we change hotels? We need opinions and discussions here.

We should all try to figure out who can/wants to room up together to help split the costs.

Being away from the milder crowd and regulars like Zimmer and co. would be a bit disappointing. I think Dino said it best, in the past that rooming up together has always been a thing to do.

If the wife's not going, I may work on finding a local buddy or two that's interested in going like the past couple of years.

Even with a friend I find it hard to justify that type of pricing. Last year I got the whole weekend at the campground for less than what you guys just paid for Saturday. I think it was Super 6 had a great special last year. It sucks being far away from everyone, but $600+ for a hotel for the weekend (which honestly we are never in the rooms but a few hours of sleeping) is simply insane. I stayed at a fancy hotel in Florida for the performance racing industry show, and it was way cheaper than what they try to charge us for the shootout.

I am also trying to convince some customers to come down this year for the GTR part of the shootout. This may also influence where I stay. Mainly because I want to ride around in GTR the whole time and seem important.

Zimmer and crew have changed locations. We are currently booked at Super 8. I believe we are still in Norwalk, but we could be in Milan. Once I have confirmation I will report back.

We couldn't justify the price hike. I am still going to grab a cooler and make my way to the 2gnt party wherever it ends up.

That is disappointing that you have moved due to rate hikes. I think 2gnt is planning on staying at the AAI as of right now. I have a reservation there and I think a few others do as well.

yeah, bummer. You guys are a highlight of the trip.

yeah I was bummed when I heard about this, I will bet we won't be at the AAI next year since the plans this year seem to be set
