9739, Pioneer deh-6500 Repair or Toss?
Posted by dizzastic, Sep-13-04 06:02 PM
My sister had this head unit in her eclipse when she bought the car(there is no reciept) it had no mounting brackets it was just floping around in the console, so she took it to car toys they installed it along with her amp and subs. 2 weeks later she was driving she hit a pot hole and the vocals stoped no sound out of the speakers, all you hear are the subwoofers. Ne ways she got car toys to give her a $600 panasonic head unit for all the hassle shes gone through at another one of there stores. Any ways should i now have the Pioneer 6500 sitting in my living room and was wondering if i should get it repaired or toss it(i have stock radio) so what would be in my best interest?

Do what you want.. I have had no problems with my Pioneer headunit ever. I'd like to kno what you people do to them to make te buttons fall off and shit. And if you bought their cheaper model that you can get at Wal-Mart for $99 serves you right then. They gotta make some shit cheap for some people.. Never skimp on audio if you want to have something really decent. I payed $420 for mine and you get what you pay for and she works excellent! Theres my rant

I certainly hope you aren't reffering to me. I bought my DEH-P7000R at Best But for $400. BRAND NEW. No walmart shit for me. The buttons din't fall off either, they are rubber and they just crumbled. What did I do to it to make it fail? Nothing. I baby my car and my electronics. This is my 3rd pioneer unit that i have had nothing but problems with.

I'm sorry to hear you had bad luck with yours. I dont understand why the buttons would be rubber. O'well he had issues I haven't if your gonna toss your headunit just sell it in on the forums see if anyone wants it. Sorry to hear about the unfortunate luck with them
