I was looking at another post about the window module, and I was curious on wheter this module would work with my Viper alarm.

If it would, could I program this myself using the valet swith or something? I would really love to add additional features to my alarm.

Just about all alarms have a "negative output when armed" wire that these roll-up modules are needing. That allows for the "roll-up at arm" function to work. Most alarms also have aux. outputs that allow for "vent windows" or "full window roll-down" functions.

I talked the the rep at the place you linked to and it sounds like the module is worth a test.

The one thing you won't get with this module is the added bonus of one-touch (express) up-and-down features like many new cars have.

The DEI module allows me to have both one-touch up and down on both windows, controlled exclusively from the drivers side. I like the fact that the passenger window switch retains the standard function.

The DEI also has user adjustable current load adjustments via DIP switch settings. The module you are looking at does not have that feature but it isn't a "must have" unless you've got really bad window regulators or a bad motor that pulls excessive amps.

ya that's what i did. you just use the 'ground when armed' output from your alarm to activate the module. if you want to be able to roll the windows down you can do so with about 3 relays and an extra output channel from your alarm. for the auto roll-up you will not need to reprogram anything.

btw that's too much to pay for such a simple module. check ebay. i got mine for $20. if you're gonna pay $40ish you might as well upgrade to the DEI. keep in mind that whichever route you go your alarm must have an extra channel available if you plan to use the roll-down functions.
