9625, Stock??? Alarm disabled car... no remote... how do I disable with key?

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone could please help me here...

If you want the full story, here it is:

http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=4&topic_id=64910&mesg_id=64910&page=

Short story...I had to take my battery out and when I reconnected it, the alarm went off and disabled my engine. The dealer never gave me the remotes for this car, so I just use the key all of the time. But, now the alarm is going off and I need to know the sequence to disable it.

I thought it was: Door Open -> Turn Key On -> Turn Key Off -> Flip Valet On -> Start

But that didn't seem to work. I believe it is the stock alarm. At least I didn't add an alarm since I bought it and the dealer didn't even tell me that there was an alarm on the car. Just one day it goes off. Shit. Anyone know?

Next question...

After I get all of this resolved, is there a way I can get that freaking alarm removed?!? I can't use it, so it might as well be gone. Or possibly an alternative method for dealing with it? Can I get remotes made cheaply for it? I have a mechanic friend who could do the work to take it out for me if I knew it could be done.

Anyway, thanks in advance for you help guys!

You can take it out easily just a matter of removing wires. If it is a factory remote you can get it from ebay usually and autozone and of course the dealer. Just have to figure out how to program it, I think I read a way to do it for our cars but I am not sure if it works.

When the alarm sounded was it the factory horn or is there a siren in the engine bay somewhere. I think that a factory alarm uses a factory horn (not 100% sure though)

No, I believe it was a siren. FUCK. I guess that means it wasn't stock. We disconnected the siren one day because it was so annoying to work on with it going on and off all of the time. I just wish we could've disconnected the whole alarm. I know there is a trick I can do to get the car started even if the alarm has it disabled. As long as I have the key turned to the on position, there is a way to complete the circuit or whatever in the engine using just a screwdriver(I think).... we did it before. But, that still leaves the alarm problem after I turn the car back off.

I don't know what to do about the alarm then as far as disabling it.

I still not 100% sure that the factory uses the horn. But if it is an aftermarket one then look for the alarm brain (the control box) it is most likely to be under the dash on the drivers side. If you find it then you can take the alarm out pretty easily.

Also look on the siren maybe there is brand on it maybe that will tell you for sure if it was a stock or aftermarket

The factory alarm uses the horn, however it also uses some hidden 'back-up' horn. I have disconnected the horn, and there is an auxillary horn that still goes off.

I have heard, to disable the stock alarm - there is an orange with under the drive side on the left, near the small fuse box. You tap a ground off of it and ground it to the chasis and is supposed to disable the alarm.... I have yet to do it so I am unsure.

Ghost look under the dash on the drivers side....a aftermarket alarm will almost jump out at you unless i installed it :) There will be two fuses, pull them and your golden. Remove the rest later
