i bought two 12 inch eclipse subs off of a friend. im not sure exactly which they are off hand but they are like 500 watts each. i bought them knowing one had the spider blown. ive used the search :thumbsup and found that there are places that can repair them. i have two questions based on this. one, does anyone live near frederick Md that knows of a place to fix it? two, if not does anyone know how i can get in touch with the makers of eclipse subs to see about fixing it. i cant find a web site or anything. :shrug any help would be great.

Subs are expendable as are any speaker. You really don't want to send them to Eclipse to repair them. It will cost you as much as buying a new speaker.

And you can't "blow" a spider. The spider is just the suspension under the cone. Now maybe it's ripped, but you can't blow it. You can only blow the voice coil.

Now if by spiker you meant voice coil you just got ripped off by your friend. If you get it repaired by some shop they won't put in the same materials that Eclipse made them with in the first place and you'll have an inferior product. And if you send it to Eclipse by the time you pay to ship it there and back plus the service time you'll spend a crapload of money.

Should have just bought new subs brutha :shrug

You would think he did rip me off but since I got both of the 200 plus dolar subs for $60 I think I'm still ok. I'd say that sending thw subs to eclipse whould be the best choice by what u say. I emailed them to check prices, so I guess we will see.
