Posted by tomatot, Jun-04-04 06:04 PM
I am planning to wire the cable of my radar inside my car. What kind of materials should I use to stick the wire inside the car?

I don't want to use normal tape... so, any suggest?
thanks a lot!!!

where are you "sticking" it? (lmao, that didnt sound right) :P

are you planning to hide the wires, or are you running them over visable panels? i could suggest a few very ugly ways to secure them, but that wouldnt work in plain view. ;)

I think I am going to run it visably.... but, in a way not easy to see... maybe I should describe my plan....

PUt the Radar detector above the rear mirror.... run the wire towards the right.... behind the plastic and between the windows, passing down and hide inside the place where the doors..... going down to the glove box... and back to the 12V adapter....

This is going to be visible ....... but, not a bad choice for my first step!

so, back to my question.....

what should I get to stick the wire to the (1) plastic and the place between the window, (2) on the plastic of the like the left side of the passenger seat.....

any suggestions for different place?
Thanks a lot man!!!!!

when you run the wire down the a-piller (on the edge of the windsheild), you can tuck the wire back behind it. that will hold it really well. you might also be able to tuck it behind the headliner when you are making the run across the windshield. i dont have an eclipse any more so its hard to guess, lol. from there, you could run it under the dash and then out to the cig lighter. to hold the wire under the dash, you could just use zip-ties or velcro ties.

but, let's say, if I need to stick the wire somethere on the plastic .... what do you recommend me to use? instead of the regular tape.......

are you planning on removing this often or something? if not i'd tuck behind panels. for sticking the wire to the panels, i've seen some plastic clips that have an adhesive back (home depot, walmart, etc), so you could snap the wire out if you're removing the radar from the car. probly look nasty if it's hangin in view.
