ok well i have some nice 3way pioneer 6x9s sitting up in my room.. my boy just gave me them.. for my old blue fogs.. didnt want them anyways.. somy next step was audio and i got a new cd player the panasonic 801.. but my stock speakers suck.. want to get new ones but im trying to save up for a turbo.. so i said well let me see if i can fit the 6x9s back there.. now i know i can go in and modify them to make them fit but i didnt want to try if there was no way in hell i could do it.. without it sounding like ass.... so anyone ever done this.. anyeasy ways?? there are 5 1/4s in there now.. my crapy stockers..

find an eclipse/talon in the junkyard that has 6x9s in the back, and take out the 6x9 mounting hardware. it's one peice and is held by 4 screws. it'll bolt right up in your stock location. never seen the stock RS plate, so I couldn't tell ya if it's modifyable or not...

oh sweet.. hmm anywhere else i could get the buckets like say mitsu.. cuz junkyards are kinda far of adrive.. hmm well thanks for the info i forgot the infinity system had them..

you can just modify the stock holes. i did mine like that. just used a dremmel and sanded the opening to fit the 6x9s. no problems at all, and they look like they came stock with 6x9s. takes a little time, but the overall results were great. i know some others on this board have done it too. just trying to save a brutha some cash!!

Why not keep 6.5's or 5 1/4? Whats your reasoning for switching to oval speakers?

yeah really i have a 95 gs and i have 6x9's and i'm tryin to pit a larger round speaker in there. i'm lookin at 6.5 coaxs

ok well i thought i re to this last night guess it didnt work my home comp is slow..

anyway.. im no audio pro.. so why would i not want the 6x9s over the round speakers whats the difference??? more bump or mid range what. id ont know audio.. i just though they were better.. well they are better then my stockerssss

but i got one to fit in there just fine.. have to do the other one 2night was too tired to finish last night... but its in there the grill fits back over fine...

well I just put RF 6x9's in my RS and they are a definite improvement over the stock speakers. They put out a lil bit more bass, but the highs are were the real improvement takes place.
