I know most of you dont really get into it, but my car club who is sponsored by a local audio place had a car show yesterday with a sound off. I ran my car through twice and hit a high of 145.6 dB. I have (4)12" JL W0s..Anyway, after I ran it through I stuck around for a little while, then ended up leaving. I just had a friend message me online telling me I got 3rd place and I need to go back because for the trophy they're taking a picture of me and my car and printing it off on a t-shirt with the 145.6dB I hit. Sorry for dragging on, I just thought someone else might get into this sorta thing. :thumbsup

Good job man..I used to DB Drag Race for several years when I was really into the car audio scene..I ran 2 15" Eclipse Aluminum Subs, and 2 Directed 1100D's in a ported box with ports going up through the rear deck(1996 Grand Prix), and hit a best of 153 DB's..loud enough for me.. I think I have some hearing damage though haha..ahh the bass head days :)

good score man! i used to run a wall in the eclipse (2 audiobahn 15s in an 8cubic foot enclosure tuned to 30hz). i was in the low 150s running about 600 watts to them.

just out of curiostiy, do you know what meter they were using?

I'm not sure, but it was the JL rep for Indiana and Kentucky that was doing it.

A friend of mine in GA that owned a shop ran a 162 with just a Kicker L7 12" and a Memphis 1000 watt amp. But it was in a Honda CRX ;)

There was a guy with a Focus hatchback yesterday that hit 150.3 with 3 8" JL W7's.

yea thats preety kewl im working on my system right now for my eclipse although on my friends system that we built he was hitting 151.48 with the audio control meter which was a new usaci world record for that class
but with the new meters there using dont know the name of it it drop down to 142 +/- 1-2 since those new sensors seem to be a lot tighter but then again all this is done with one 10" which is what I find to be very impressive alone dont :) if your wondering what type of sub it is it's a digital design

I like car audio as well. I use to have 2 12" Eclipse titaniums running about 600 or so to each sub. And that was loud enough for me. But then I sold them for reasons. And now just sitting with 2 12" kicker comp VR's Which work good enough for me!

ya, i had a 14"x8"x3/4" plexi window in the wall so i could still use my rear view. long story, but it went with the car after i wrecked. there was no possible way to remove it anyway without completely tearing the enclosure up. it was built in the car, lol.

OOOh..thats a good idea. Some of the guys at my audio place were talking to me about building a wall where my back seat is, but keeping my hatch space. A nice plexiglass window would fit in well.

^^^that was EXACTLY my goal. i wanted to take up the most unused space (the backseat) but still leave the trunk fully open. with the plexi piece i managed to keep my rear view. if you have any questions, PM or make a thread!

I used to do the Db Drag race scene too, I had a $300 Hyundai Excel walled off for the Extreme 1-2 class.
2 1/2 thiuck concrete floor
MDF dash
doors filled with expand-a-foam
winshield was basically blown out. I had 2 1"x1/2" steel straps going vertically on the wionshield to keep it from flexing
I had 1 15" Cerwin-Vega Stroker and 2 CFA-1000D Crossfires on it (2000 watts total) pushing high 150's It was fun till all the equipment got stolen out of it after a show, then i just junked the car and said fuck it I wasnt gonna spend all that money again.
