Got some more progress done. I just have to finish putting the bondo over the enclosure and sand it smooth. Each sub fits in the rear corners of my hatch and fire back somewhat towards the driver/passenger. My amp will mount right in the middle so i still have some trunk space.

I test fitted teh enclosure and it JUST barely fits in the hatch. Had to do some bending of the panels to squeeze it in there.

Hey I could use your help...I have gotten myself in deep and there is no turning back now. How did you go about buiding that encloure? Second I can't get the mixture right...How do you go about measuring your hardner/resin mixture? When you make a big batch for the enclosure how what is the best way to get the right mixture? Because you would be there for 5 days just adding the hardner due to the instructions on the resin container. 1 drop per 1/4 onces or something like that. Plus is it bad to attach the wood frames to the car itself and then lay the fiberglass?

Should you build the eclosure shell then insert the structural wood for the subs? Sorry for all the questions but I know I can do it...just need some guidance. I will take some pictures of what I have so far so you get a better idea of what I'm saying. But until then any tutorials or informatial sites or advice is really appreciated. tia.

first, you dont make a big batch, you work in sections and make up several batches of the resin/hardener. second, i always guess based on the heat outside (more heat=less hardener).

why would you be there for 5 days? like i said before, you want to do it in small batches, so perhaps about 8-12 ozs of resin at a time. the ratio you listed cant be right, thats WAAAAY too much hardener. look at the directions again.

well, that depends. you definatly want the frame to attach somehow, but you have to remmeber that you need to remove the enclosure without destroying it, so mount the frame in a way that you can access the mounting points after the glass is layed.

that also depends. if the entire base-structure of the enclosure is wood, and the only glassing is to attach the base to the "floating" mount point(s) for the sub(s), then you will need to set up the entire frame first. if part of the base is to be fiberglass, then glass that area in, and then attach the speaker mounts once youve completed the base. then you can glass over the entire thing.

no prob, im sure a lot of what i said made no sense, lol. if you do a search in the interior/exterior section for "fiberglass", youll find a recent thread about some sites and techniques.
