ouch, looks like a few of the screw penetrated through the sidewall of the circular sub cuts. make sure to watch out for that, as carpet (which youve left as the sealing surface) doesnt make a good air-tight gasket. no biggie though, just minor details, lol. jeeez, i havnt seen the black "hold-downs" in YEARS. thats kinda strange to see, but they are very useful IMO.:thumbsup

Glad you like the box :)
Be careful...if you left the wiring like you did in that last picture (where it goes straight to the back seats), you might eventually rub through the wiring. That happened to me after a few months, and my amp would blow a fuse when I hit a bump because the speaker wire was grounding out. I routed the wire around so it comes out from the passenger side of the box and not directly in the center like that. I also put wire loom around it to protect it...also, I used industrial velcro to hold the box down better. You could also use bolts through the holes in the bottom for better stability if you wanted.

One question, do the subs have to line up that way, or can you put the two subs in a straight line instead of diagonally apart?

thats just the way mine are setup in there but you're only limited to the space provided in the trunk, other than that...you can mount it anyway you like :thumbsup

hey how many layers of fiberglass did you use. Im puttin 2 15s in a molded box back there with an amp rack and need to know how many layers to put on the bottom and then on the top cause my box is gonna curve around the amp rack... hopefully...

2 15's? holy monkey...you must love that bass. lol. i'd just make a box out of MDF and then mold that to the trunk with a couple layers of fiberglass. that way the box itself is sealed. oh yea...and i just sound deadened the inside because the fiberglass was sounding kinda 'boingy' but its all good now. just make sure you get the right mount depth and all that for your 15's, the subs themselves dont make as much of a difference on the sound as the box does

cool thanks. Ive been building MDF sub boxes all my life and i can make 2 10s sound like 2 15s with a decent brand and a good amp... This will be my first try with fiberglass. I already have somewhat of a design. the sides of the box will be mdf as well as speaker rims and an amprack. the top and bottom of the box will be fiberglass and hopefully painted to match the car. cross your fingers. i hope it comes out. if not i already have a box for 2 15s it just takes up my entire trunk and sux.
