8300, How to disable stock alarm?
Posted by Ryan_Hes, Mar-03-04 07:33 AM
All I want to do it simply disable the stock alarm. When I press the power lock button or the lock button on my remote...I don't want the green security light to come on and I dont want the alarm to be activated.

My problem is my alarm will go off at random...even tho nothing has happened.

My only way around it now is to open my door, then press in the doorjam sensor so the car thinks the door is closed...then lock it. The security light doesn't turn on, and its all good....but its a pain in my ass.

So..does anyone know of a wire that can be snipped or any way to disable the stock alarm?

The ETACS (electronic time and alarm control system), which is located behind the interior fuse panel, controls the stock alarm. Since it controls the flashing, and will only do it if the alarm succesfully alarmed the answer to your question is no.

You can, however, disable the factory alarm and hook the security light up one of those varad LED's off eBay (comes w/ a circuit bored to make it flash w/ or w/o an alarm).

To disable the stock alarm refer to my post on this thread, http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=10&topic_id=3557&mesg_id=3557&listing_type=search

Good luck! :thumbsup

In response to your P.M. Ryan:

The best place to tap into that orange wire to disable the alarm, imo (also where I tapped into mine) is where the wires go from inside the cabin into door. Look inside near the fuse box, and look to the left, you'll have to peel off some covering, to expose the wires. Just use a t-tap, clip it on, and run a grounded wire to the terminal in the t-tap (easiest way imo).

This will COMPLETLY disable your stock alarm (stock keyless entry will still work if you have the brain still in it), no flashing security light, or anything. If your not going to install an aftermarket alarm, I suggest getting one of those ultra bright VARAD LED's off eBay, which are wired to flash when your car is turned off, (or to flash if you have an aftermarket alarm installed) because this is the #1 theft deterant.

The siren maker is the stock horn, and your starter is killed when the stock alarm goes off.

My factory alarm used to go off at random since the first day I got the car new. Lived with it for years. Found out that others had the same problem and fixed it. The problem is the hood sensor located by the headlight. Just disconnect the sensor and the rest of the alarm and remote doorlocks will work fine. Try that unless you want to disable because your putting in new alarm.
