Hi i have a 96 eclipse GS, I bought this car used and it came with a viper 400 alarm on it, i have the owners guide but is completly scratch and i cant read anything from it.
My problem is that my alarm does not make any sound at all. If i arm it the light flash indiucating that it is armed but i have no sound at all, same thing happend when i disarmn ir, lights flash twice and the door lock get unlock and i get no sound. I already tested the siren connecting the wires directly to the battery and it does work. Also i check with a vltimeter and the alarm is sending a signal to the siren. I also connected another siren just to make sure and no go.

I think that it is like in a silent mode or something like that, but i have no idea of how to test it or disactive that.

Please help me out here.....i'm getting crazy

just download the install manual from www.viper.com it'll tell you how to program all the features in the alarm. its the manual that the shops have from when they install it.

i did, in the DEI web site there is no owners guide for this model, also i download the Viper 300+ that seems to be the samething and it tells you that there is a way to program it but it does not tell you how to doit.....

Perhaps it was ever wired to the horn or a PA speaker. Mabye it's just a keyless entry unit. :shrug

If its stuck in a valet mode it will not beep or make noise when you lock or unlock.. try finding the valet switch and hitting it.

I had a viper alarm on my talon that came with it. One time the alarm stopped the audio shop just reprogrammed it for me for 10$

Then it died again and I brought it back and it turned out the siren was shot, they can just die sometimes. It was 60$ to fix, and I got a much louder siren for it.
