Ok well i got a cd changer for x-mas, but it is an FM modulated version. I have a kenwood head unit that allows for a cd changer. I hope you guys could recommend some options for me, i want a good cd-changer 6-10 disc that is mp3 compatible. Can i use any brand of cd changer without using the FM modulator or can i use i.e. a kenwood head unit and an alpine changer that is not fm modulated??? I just figure that i don't want to change to an FM station then pick out the cd i want. And for ease of installation just hook the cd changer straight into the headunit if that is possible??? Any good info and recommendations are appreciated!!!

first off you have to use the same brand changer as head unit. depending on how old your head unit is, i would think about getting a newer one that does mp3. most newer ones do.
its a matter of opinion on what brand to go with, since each one has its own set of features. personally i would look at Alpine if you have the money to spend on a good deck. ive owned 6 of them and have never had a bad experience with them.
plus, when it comes to a good ICE system Alpine has it all in one brand!

dude, I was just going to post the same exact question. my kenwood reciever's tapedeck is growing craptacular, and I'm sick of the CD/MP3 to cassette adapters. (even though I get 'em for 30% off at radioshack ;))

from what I can find online, kenwood currently only makes one CD/MP3 changer model, and it also does DVD... so, I'm thinking I'll take the one out of my dash and give it to my folks for their neon. ain't spending no $600 on a DVD changer I don't need.
