I am installing this hidden antenna, and I was curious if I powered the antenna buy the 12v power wire on the ciggerete lighter would that drain my battery fast. I already currently have a power leak somewhere with my car, and I believe it is coming somewhere from my alarm system.. Anyway.. Would this kill my battery fast? If so, where should I run this wire so it only turns on when my radio is on.

yes it would drain it probaly over night or over the weekend try hooking it up to your acc wire if you have a after market radio or your remote wire for your amps

im pretty sure its orange for acc 12 volt+ your remote wire is blue

I might try installing it on the back hatch maybe and use the power from the old power antenna. Would that work? I was gonna mount it under the dash, but I dont know if I'll get good signal. I was for awhile but then it cut on me.

if you're tapping the cig. lighter that is NOT a constant 12v source. it's with the rest of the accessories if im not mistaken. or it might be linked to the ignition wire. i forget which. either way it's not constant so it won't drain your batt when you leave the car sitting.

All fixed guys. I ran it to from the top of the back of the hatch down to to the trunk and wired it into the old power antenna harness and it powers that way.. Works great and its a clean install.:P
