7834, shoot me in the face i'm so frustrated

the other day my radio JVC KD-S570 (a year or two old) started doing this shit where every now and then the power light would start blinking and it would be turning on and off my amp and stuff, so i would have to remove the face. I would come back a day later and put the face on and it would work. Recently, it started to be that it was always blinking, no matter what. Just 2 days ago, it wouldn't turn on. at all. i pulled it out to check all the wires (FYI the wiring done by the previous owners for the previous shit radio was horrendous. they chopped out the wiring harness, nuff said) seemed to be in place (power, grnd, etc). did my headunit die? it can't be the ignition relay cuz it was never hooked up to the ignition relay to begin with, i could turn the radio on if the car was off and there were no keys in the ignition.

Take a DMM (digital multi meter) to the connections for the constant 12v+, ignition 12v+ (probably hooked to the same wire by what you said), and the ground. If your getting power on all those then your HU is toast.

when you say amp do you mean the internal amp in the cd-player or your aftermarket one in the trunk? My old JVC used to blink when i turned it up because the internal amp used too much power.

i just finished rewiring the whole thing yesterday before work and it was working great (i think i even got 3 out of 4 speakers working) BUT when i got out of work it was doing that blinky shit again. since i actually woke up early today i have some time to pull it out before i get to work

and by amp i mean sub amp, the head will turn it on and off and sometimes it'll make it thump when it turns on and then off.

Did you check all your fuses? And smell the amp(s) to see if anything smells burnt.
