Is it as easy it seems to install an FM modulator. I can install a turbo kit...but when it comes to car audio I'm a noob. Apparently, the audio RCA jacks from my PS2 will plug into the FM modulator, the FM modulator will be powered, and I get confused at the antennae part. Does the stock deck have a plug in for the antennae cord from the FM modulator?...and then I plug the existing antennae cord that is in the deck into the FM modulator...

Basically...if someone can tell me step by step how to install one of these....It would be nice. :D

p.s. I have the stock deck, however it is the nice infinity one with CD player and whatnot..if it matters. Ive got my screen up, I got my PS2 ready...I just need to get sound to my speakers.

You pretty much answered your own question. The FM modulator will have an antenna lead. That goes to your radio and the lead from the antenna goes into the FM modulator. Then you just tune to the specified frequency for the modulator to pick up the sound. hope that helps.

Hook the 12 volt feed to the switched wire at your radio. Ground the ground wire. Then unplug your antenna fromt he radio. Plug the antenna from the car into the modulator and then plug the modulator into the radios antenna connector. There will be a set of audio input rca jacks. Take the audio output from the external device and plug it in here. Then just tune your radio to the frequency that the modulator operates on and you are done. Good luck with the install!

Ive heard a lot of people have problems with the speakers 'whining' on an FM modulator....is there any way around this, any special type of modulator I should buy.....suggestions/advice appreciated.

Well I've heard some of the cheaper ones can, will, and may cause problems. I had a friend that bought one of the cheaper off-brand types and had noise problems (It may had something to do with the install I don't know) but, he went got a higher end one for around $80 I think it was either Clarion or Alpine but, it solved the noise problem... but, like I said the first one he installed he might have did something different.

Sorry for the late reply but a little bit of hissing/whine is normal for most fm modulators. Even the higher ones will to it. Granted its a little less noticable then the cheaper ones but if you are really anal about clean sound you will hear it. Best thing is to try to ground/mount the modulator in a couple different places to see what works. If the whine/hiss still persists chances are you may have a ground loop. You can also get a little noise feedback from the altenator.
