7519, Which 6x9's do u have????
Posted by Ronaldinho, Oct-29-03 11:41 AM
I currently have the Alpine 6939s 6x9's for the back speakers. I was looking to replace them but crutchfield tells me that there are no other 6x9's that will fit in there. Does anyone here have other speakers in their car and did they fit in correctly or did u have to do some cutting?

I really really want the polk OB690's to match the polk components I want up front, plus I think they sound the least muddled of the 6*9's in my price range, but I'm wondering if they'll fit too. Anyone know teh dimensions of the back?

i got some kenwoods 3 way. not the best in the world, but a lot better than stock. like 220 watts or so.

I think most 6.9's should fit in perfectly with our car. Its the ones in the door we have trouble with.

crutchfield is dumb. there's lotsa stuff that they list as not fitting when it actually does.

I 2nd that! Got JBL's & they fit just fine. The plastic arms of the speaker bracket bend a tiny tiny bit Bcause of the size of the magnet, but fits no prob.

Also, I'd recommend taking a knife & shaving the plastic in-whatever of the backs of the interior panels that cover the speaker... so that when the speaker pounds out, it doesn't cut in2 it :cheers

6x9's fit fine in the rears, cheaper than putting subs in the back. Personally, I went with some 6 1/2's since I had subs in the rear. Now I run full SQ and SPL at shows, so I have no rear speaks.
I bought some Eclipse (by fugitsuTen) 6x9's originally when I bought the car, but ended up selling them without installing them. I did however hook them up to make sure they worked. WOW, is all I have to say. Eclipse makes some really great stuff (hence the name). I would go with some Eclipse 6x9's. :bowdown

I did some cutting because I have the Bas Talon but I dropped in some Pioneer 6x9's at 220W and my front 6.5's are 180W Pioneers.
