7381, Stereo cutting out. Posted by phatface83, Oct-16-03 07:42 PM
Ok, today when i was driving my stereo just made a crackiling noise and all the music just cut out. the deck stayed on as normal just no sound. THen later it came back on and was normal just to fade and cut out again in like 10 min. So i was just wondering if anyone has had this happpen to them before? and any ideas as to what might be causing this? My brother was thinking maybe the Alternator is going or my RCA/ or some other wires are loose or going bad? thanks for any suggestions or info. thanks

Check your power connection and both the at the battery and amp. Check the ground on the amp and where it's grouned. Check RCA/Remote at both amp and head unit. After you make sure those are all good you could check the cables themselves for any cuts that might be touching metal through out the car. After you check all of those I'm almost sure you will fix the problem, if not then come back. Good luck.
*Anyone else if I was wrong correct me before he listens*
