I just purchased my 98 Eclipse GS, it came without a radio in it. I purchased a Pioneer DEH-9400MP for it, I also came across a pair of Solo-baric 12L7s for, well I will just say VERY CHEAP. I am looking for a JL Audio 1000.1 amp or an Xtant 1000/1 amp to drive them. I have a good feeling that the factory speakers are not going to be sufficient with this setup. Can someone please give me some insight into what I should go with for the rest of my setup.

I really like the Infinity Kappa's great sound and not too pricey. If you go with a component set Kicker makes a great set or MB Quart

I had been looking at a few different Infinity systems, but I wasn't sure which ones would fit. The last time I was into car audio there were 6.5's and 5.75s but now there are a few more than that. I looked at crutchfield, but they seemed to give only limited info on what would fit. I would appreciate any help possible. Also please excuse my ignorance, but hey if I never asked I would never know.

You can fit 6.5" all around. I have the Infinity Reference 6.5" component set up front and Reference 6.5" 2-ways in the back. I had to cut away some of the plastic up front to get them to fit but it wasnt to bad.

how much do you want to spend??? sounds like you can at least afford to go the component route, i would suggest the new boston acoustics z6s ($1000 retail/$600 if youve got a friend who works for tweeter...they are THE BEST sounding 2-way component set ive heard in a while) or the CDT HD62s (around $300 online) or the CDT eurosports (about $600) if you have the money. the new phoenix gold component sets are supposed to be amazing (and expensive), but i havnt heard them yet.

Well, I just installed my system. I got a JL Audio 300/4 amp to drive 2 pairs of MB Quart DSD-216 6.5" Components. It sounds really sweet. As soon as I get my amp and subs it will sound even better. The 6.5"s were a really tight fit on the front doors. The speaker wires were a pain to run into the doors also. I put the cross overs in the kickpanels so I had to run 2 wires also, but it is all done. Thanks for the advice.

No, I didn't steal them. I bought them off of a member of SoundDomain. However, I paid for them about a month ago and still no subs. Luckily I have his home address, and I drive through his hometown when I go back home to visit family. If I don't have the subs by Thanksgiving, I will be paying him a little visit. I will get my subs from this guy one way or another. Just for your guys' protection never do business with Tom Baxa, he does alot with car audio stuff. He lives in the Chicago area.

Well in my opinion if you were wanting to get components get Focal's . It matters what your price range is to get which series. The Focal Polykevlar set is a good mid-range price for a person who wants really great great quality for the buck thats for sure they sound awesome just make sure you amp em =). Then in the back i would just get maybe a set of 6 1/2 6 3/4 Infinity Kappas if you dont wanna deal with hackin away to put in the 6x9's. The 6 1/2 sounds much better though. The reason people get the 6x9's is for bass response but you wont need that if your getting subs. And matters how much your wanting to spend on your system and how much trunk room you would like. If you want a single setup I mean you may have never heard of it but maybe get a single Alphasonic 15 trust me it pounds hard and not too expensive you can find one for around 200 get a ported box tuned to around 45 hertz and people will wonder what you have in there. =) But if you have more money maybe get a single JL audio W7 those sounds really good my friend in a talon hit 151dbs with a single 13 w7 with a jl audio 1000.1 powering it. And with the Amp JL Audio 1000.1's are very good so that would be a good amp to pick just make sure you dont underpower or overpower the subs. JL Amps can take alot of abuse and can are usually underrated and will push more wattage then they say so GL On your choices just tell me what you have to work with money wise and i can set you up with some good equipment and i have good sites to order from too if you need help with that. !

I have pretty much everything that I need. I have the MB Quart 6.5" Compontents at all 4 corners powered by a 350/4 JL Audio amp, I just recieved my JL Audio 1000/1 amp yesterday in the mail with a remote bass knob, I am currently running a Pioneer DEH-9400MP head unit. I have bought 2-12L7's (Silver Cone) from a guy in Chicago, but the deal is kinda going bad. I paid for them a LONG time ago and I still haven't gotten the subs. I spoke with the guys father and apparently the guy is either in jail or rehab. His father said that he would try and work things out for me, but we will see. That is all I am lacking is the subs. Everything but the 1000/1 amp and the subs are already installed in my car. I definatly want the extra bass from the subs, the components sound great, but I can tell that they lack some bass. If you know of a cheap place to get either Kicker L7's or JL W7's let me know, I may need to buy some different ones if this deal doesn't work out.

Well, If i was you i would probably go with just 1 JL 13W7 and it will be as loud as those 2 solo barics. It's kind of hard to find Jl audio sites on the web now for some reason but a good place is woofersetc.com they sell the 13w7 for 470. If that is in your price range for just the sub i would also look into getting maybe just 2 12" Eclipse DVC Alums they are like 280 a piece but trust me you wont be disappointed with them. I've heard them many times and they hit low and go loooouudddd. So just look into those and you wont be disappointed.

Oopsey hehe sorry bout that. When i was reading that i was like damn 470 thats crazy lol. I didn't give it much thought. Yah i would just go with maybe 2 Eclipse Alums maybe 15's they are very nice extremely nice actually. Just check around.

the w7 is horrible IMO. its engineered very well, and performs well in certain conditions, but for the average consumer its a massive waste of money.

shhhh adire is one of my friend's best kept secrets!

heh no one knows about adire cuz they're high end and pimp, not something every gangsta thug can have his 'boy' hook him up with for $80. adire is expensive. no way around it. but it's great quality. their shiva sub is a bit box hungry, so if you have a small box, don't get it. their component system is amazing, and for ~$350 it better be. if you've got the cash, go for it. if you're looking for good stuff, but less cost, the high end kicker speakers are pretty good, clarion, mb quart, and infinity. all of their top stuff is good.
