I got 2 and I have them both bridged on a phonix gold amp pushing 300 watts to each sub.. It hits!!! :) I'll be rollin down the rode and every time the bass hits the shit goes blurry. I also love it when I'm driving down the rode and the left turn arrow lights on the stop lights start bouncin.. Thats tight. :) Phonix gold, best amp I've ever had. I had a rockford fosgate a100 or something like that and that amp was good, but the phoenix gold sounds MUCH MUCH cleaner. I highly recommend phonix gold despite theyre high prices.

i had the same set up as josh, phoenix gold amp bridged to push 300 watts and 2 JL 12w3's in a sealed box. it hurts! don't remember what amp it was but it was black and had gold writing on it.

ive got 6 JL 12W's in some form or fashion. i had three W6's and they destroyed things, then they destroyed themselves so im replacing them with 12W3's which i have bought and installed one of so far.
all three are dual 6-ohm running off a 600-watt crossfire. cant believe the glass hasnt blown yet

go with the mtx rt2000, from www.onlinecarstereo.com its like 150.00 great deal and it will push 2 12w3's(briged), i have it in my eclipse and i cant stand it, everything shakes.

I have two 12W3's in a sealed by, being pushed by my Kicker 2302ix amp, which is about 360w RMS. I am hitting around 145db right now when tuned right, it takes about 30sec of that to give you a headache. ITs crazy bass. I love it when people ask how many watts I run to my JL's, cause they are always like "thats it", I push 600w to my subs and they arent even close to being as loud. Thats the differance, Kicker is underrated and so is JL, thats why I chose Kicker for my amp and JL for the subs. I beleive they are some of the best subs around, they are good all around subs.

I personally don't care for JL, blown way too mamy of em. They are loud though, but don't beat on em with a lot of power for extended time..they will release the factory smoke! I have a Eclipse aluminum cone 15, and i am putting 2 Directed 1100D's to it. Thats 2200 watts to that sub, and i can pound the living shit out of it, and no damage at all. Damn, its a bad ass sub! I have 2 of em, but only got the 1 in now to keep the weight down. When i had them in my grand prix, i was hitting 151 db's in a ported box, and that was helllaa loud!
I have 4 db dragracing trophies from that set up. I miss that deafining bass!!:)

i guess you are pushing too much power into it the JL's dont need to be pushed to their limit to sound as good. i went through many subs but the jl's are the best imo

I guess my point was, if you want to slam hard, don't buy JL. Like i said, they do sound really good, and are loud. But if you really want to push em, they will blow!!! At the time i had mine, i was using about 200 watts to the sub, and siezed that voice coil up after about 2 minutes of hard hitting. Personally, i want a sub i can push really hard, cause you never know when you might want to turn up the sounds really loud when a good song comes on or whatever. If you don't want to abuse your subs, and don't really want to pound the hell outa em, then JL audio subs would be just fine. Just speaking on my personal experience here...
