7163, Need help getting more power from my amp.

Here's my current set-up:

HEADUNIT -- Alpine CDA-9807
SUB AMP -- Alpine MRD-M300
SUB -- Alpine SWR-1041D
SUB BOX -- Q-Logic QLH-.6510SX

I have 2 problems right now. 1, my box is leaking pretty bad. 2, I have the sub power on the headunit turned up to max (+15), and the bass on the headunit turned up to max (+7 / 60db)... but it's still doesn't hit that hard. In my friend's truck, he's pushing 300watts rms as well, and his headunit is set at it's lowest setting (-6) for the sub, and it's hitting harder than mine. I figured that 300watts rms into my 10" would hit harder than what it's currently doing. There are a lot of programmable options on the amp. Will changing any of those help?

Thanks, Richard -- 97 ESi

yea got to lpf low pass filter
turn your gain on the amp up
set it to mono (personal liking)
that should help you with your bass
but as far as the leaking box thing that could be a problem make it sound like its bogging

alright, there are a couple of things to take into account here. First off, get some silicone or caulk and seal the box so it is air tight. Air leaks are the worst enemy to a good sounding subwoofer setup. Next, how is you subwoofer wired to the amplifier? And one last thing, what are your settings for each of the 1-9 options on the m-300? Let me know where you have each of them set and i can help you if anything is wrong. I have 2 m-300's pushing 2 swr-1241D's and it hits hard. If you need to just reach me on aim at bowlinggod294. Hope this helps

All of the settings on the amp are still factory set. If you have some settings that would help it would be much appreciated. Also, I have my amp wired to a 2ohm load.

I have the same head unit/problem..only with a single 12 and an mtx 220 amp....with the stocker HU and a Line output converter my sub hit HARD, now it sucks...what is an LPF? I also kinda think this head unit gives off a really weak sub signal, which BLOWS...
