6968, do I need an AMP with EQ? DEQ 7600 Posted by Eclipse97, Aug-17-03 03:59 PM
I bought Pioneer Deq 7600 used off of this board. I hooked it up and all but it doesn't seem to work right. The sound coming out of the Speakers is very weak.. I can barley hear it with it turned up all they way to high. I'm thinking that I might need an 4 channel amp to hook up all four speakers..?
Help?
here's the setup so far.. Aiwa MP3 Headunit--> Deq 7600 Eq---> Kenwood speakers = almost no sound.
I've an eclipse RS.
Thanks.

yes those are RCA outputs for front back and sub.
I've put in a RCA cable and hooked it up with factory speaker wires.

wait how do you have it hooked up?? those wires on the eq are for the speaker wires coming from the deck if you dont have rcas
did you hook the speakers from the deck if you did it shouldnt matter unless those speakers are power hungry
where are the rcas from the eq going do you have it hooked up to just one amp for the sub or do you have multiple amps??
need more info

if i understand correctly, you have spliced the RCA outputs directly to the speakers. that works fine, but youll only get a bare minimal of sound, as youve discovered. ;) thats why RCAs are also called "low level" outputs.
youll need an amplifier in order to use any of the outputs from the 7600.
