Ok so i got my new headunit in and working but it won't play DVD's while the car is on...I know what your thinking but its not for me to watch is for other people. i was wondering if there is a way to do this...In order to get it to play in the first place u have to attach a wire to your parking brake wire so that it can tell whether or not your really parked i guess. My question is this: When the brake is engaged the wire is connected to a metal peice which touches the metal base of the brake when it is engaged....could i just run a wire from the original brake wire and make it so that it touches this base at all times...fooling the headunit into thinking that the brake is up?...and if so would my brake light be on (in gauge cluster) all the time and could i disconnect that? TIA

BTW: sorry for the rather long and confusing idea...i can post pics if anyone needs me to.

The way mine was all I had to do was ground that wire. There are only 2 options really, grounded or switched power...

I have mine done the same way. I just ran a wire that was grounded somewhere to a switch thats hidden under the dash. When the switch is on it is grounded and the headunit see it as the ebrake being up. I would put it on a switch cause its illegal to have any screen in view of the drive. That way you can flip thw switch real quick and it goes back to looking like its not work while your driving.
