car battery's been dying out and have taken it to get recharged once. i just got a new alternator,so what might be draining it so bad. if i let it sit there and dont turn it on for 2 days it dies. i have lots of guages and stereo amp runnin to the power maybe my wiring is jacked up. would a capacitor help, work, what does this really do,is it kind of a second battery? thanx

Only thing i can think of would be to think back when you installed something and then you noticed the car battery started dying....then i would check that out. Odds are the wires maybe turned around like having a constant source where the application calls for only a wire that turns on with the key/lights . . . etc

make sure all your shit is connected to an ingition wire..not a constant 12v wire because it'll stay on when your car is off which drains the battery.

you may need to purchase a cap or dry cell battery, the cap will help with your lights dimming in and out, also you should invest in a voltage meter, this could be very helpful to you.

you dont need a cap unless you notice that your lights fade when the bass bumps. as far as the battery i would check if the battery is shorting on something check all your wiring make sure nothing is grounding out you could have a looped circuit. where the battery just drains and drains and drains. as far as the dry cell there only good because you can keep recharging the battery and they never fully die

but yea a voltmeter would be good in this case

i guess ill state the obvious: go have the battery checked out. when batteries start to go bad, one symptom is that they wont hold a charge for very long. ;)
