6117, Alarm goes off by itself no warning help..... Posted by pn0ymahal, May-10-03 08:55 AM
hey guys, i got a FM-2007 one of those alarms with the car on the remote which pages you etc. anyways i finally got my alarm to arm while my car is cooling down, but out of no where my alarm will just go off by itself! i disconnected the motion and tilt for now to find the problem. i have a feeling i need a different shock sensor. since my alarm goes off right away without that warn away (beep beep) thing before the full siren goes off. do i need a duel shock sensor so i can have a warn away feature before the full alarm goes into effect? thanks Michael 99gs HRC Stage 2 @12psi :D Stage 3 process begins gathering parts for rebuild 2GNT Member #32

i dunno about your shock sensor, but mine is adjustable where you can either set it to go off instantly, or allow the person to be warned more, should be a sensetivity screw in there somewhere

this may or may not work, electric gurus correct me if im wrong. you could wire a relay into your alarm system so that it would give power to the shock sensor until after the car has shut off from the turbo timer(im assuming). I believe that the turbo timers give out a pulsed signal once the time runs out, or does it just cut the power?, Not really sure about that. But if you could figure out how to make a relay give power to your shock sensor only after the turbo timer shuts off, then that should solve your problems. Plus, you wouldn't have to turn your shock sensor all the way down.(kinda defeats purpose). How to get this to work, I dunno, im still trying to figure out how to wire the wired to the window switches for my window contol module. :P

^^ youre right jason. im trying to figure out how to wire a similar setup. its the only way to get around the problem while maintaining the full use of your shock sensors.

if you get something that works out, PS or e-mail me. I would like to keep that info on file for when I go turbo.
