i got a viper alarm with the dei motion sensor as well and all and blah blah blah. anyways, my siren got some water damage and no longer works. how much would a new siren cost. i kinda need one asap so i'm just going to go to a stereo shop and pick one up. how much am i looking at spending. tia.

i would imagine you could find them online for 5-15 bucks, in a store thoguh theyll probably be around 20-25. thats just a guess though. if its more than that youre getting ripped off.

Did a shop install it for you?? If so, then you may be able to get it under warrenty. Was the siren pointed upward? If it was, then water can collect inside the horn part, and mess it all up. I install DEI stuff at my shop, and I have a bunch of older 514T sirens, all brand new. Let me know if you cant find one locally, i can prob hook you up.

Unfortunately, the siren and the remotes are not covered under DEI's lifetime warranty. You will have to buy a new siren, but all is not lost!

When you replace your siren, consider the different options that you have. There are many siren types and I would recommend using a combination of sirens.

If you plan on using more than 2 sirens, you will need to have a relay put on the siren output wire from your alarm. Typically, the alarm brains will only provide sufficient power for 2 sirens.

I've just recently installed a siren with a back-up battery in it. This siren is pretty cool, since cutting the power to the siren or car battery will trigger the siren.
