5432, Alarm help...

So my car was broken into for the second time in nine months and now I've decided its time to get an alarm for it. What are some good budget alarm systems for a 99 RS with manual locks? Thanks for the help guys! Sorry if there are a thousand posts about this already.

Yo. I got a Viper 300 ESP on my 98 GS and I really like it. I haven't had any problems with people breaking into my car though, but if they do plenty of people will hear my alarm! :thumbsup Soft chirp with loud alarm. I don't know about the manual locks though so I don't know if its compatable. Anyways just thought I'd give ya my 2 cents.

puttin in an alarm is the best time to put in your power accessories. might as well put in power locks. actuators for power locks are pretty cheap.. maybe $30-40 a pair. it just attaches to the locking mechanism alreayd in there. then you can hook that up to your alarm. keyless entry kicks ass. i have a viper 500 and had power locks installed at the same time. i coulda done it myself but i let the alarm guys do it since they had to hook it up to the alarm anyways. if you're handy w/ electrical stuff ya might wanna consider doin the alarm install yourself. just be thorough. the install makes all the difference w/ alarms. but yea, i'm very happy w/ my viper. it's got all the standard features. dual shock sensor, starter kill, etc. i had them add a glass break sensor too. i might upgrade later to somethig w/ more channnels though. that's another thing you wanna look at. like what exactly you want your alarm to do. besides standard security features you can do some pretty neat stuff w/ the extra output channels. right now i'm in the process of wiring a relay so i can control my power windows (up and down) on one channel. oh and a power trunk release on the other channel. hehe fun stuff. anyways hope that helped. :thumbsup
