Ok I have 2 alpine type r 12 dual voice coilovers and I have a little 500watt 2 channel amp i want to bridge this...will this work?

hey, i know u got it, just bridge your amp, one + and one - from either channel, and then take that wire, and splice it, or tap into both + and -, and run them parallel.....

Actually there really isn't enough info to make a recommendation on this one because we do not know the Ohm rating of the speakers nor what the amp can handle.

And just from the drawing..my answer would be no it would not work. You have to treat each voice coil as if it were a seperate speaker. There are no internal connections that tie the voice coils together as far as power is concerned.

Ofcorse all this really doesn't matter since you figured it out....

What did you end up doing?? Are you gonna post some pics of your setup??

Well I actually grabbed a diagram from alpine, the subs are 4 ohms, Im probably not gonna sho any pix cuz it aint anything special and nothin near to yur old setup oz_gs, plus this is just temporary till i can get a hold of 2 alpine m500 amps :D

Go with the new M1000 coming out this spring.
It's in the Alpine spring catalog on their site.... BIGA$$ amp though.

Yeah I saw that but I already have one M500 so now I just need a twin brother for it. Plus its cool because the M500 is in the same case as the 340 so they look exactly the same.
