this is weird but it has been happening often, i think it is an electrical problem. i went and got my head gasket fixed and after it was fixed my car starter wouldnt come on. the alarm works and the lights flash but now the car starter wont work. i know if my car gets worked on again a mechanic will activate it without touching the alarm. so can u guys give me suggestions on what the problem is and if you guys can help me out.

Sounds like you just need to reset the alarm. Shouldn't be a big deal. What kind of alarm is it?

Your vehicle should have a hood pin, which prevents the car from starting if the hood is open. The mechanic might have messed with the hood pin, which is not allowing it to see ground. Manually press on your hood pin and see if the car starts. If it does, replace the hood pin.

That is the first place I would look. Second would be the fuses on the relay pack. There are typically 3 fuses on a relay pack, (especially if it is a DEI product, like Viper, Your Valet, etc.) Check the fuses. They should be (2) 10 amp fuses and (1) 3 amp fuse on the relay pack. If one of those is blown, your car won't start.

Third thing: is your antenna still plugged into the alarm brain. If the antenna is disconnected, the car will not start.

they prob unhooked your tach wire connection...try and locate where it is tapped at..def check your hood pin too..

damn audiophyl, your one bad ass motha! i was gonna reccomend half of what you said...all good ideas!

the only thing i could add would be to make sure that all the wires are still connected both at the alarm brain and under the dash at the ignition harness, although i dont know why in the world any mechanic would be messing with that when doing a head gasket. ive picked up my car before from shops where the headunit volume was turned almost all the way down, the EQ volume turned all the way up, and the bass gain was turned all the way up, and one of my ground wires was detatched (sounded like a ghetto system), so anything is possible.

We have a hood pin sensor??

It's to the right of the latch.

It's a little black thing and the pin is covered with rubber.

thanks ill look into all of those possiblites. and it is a premier alarm. it came with the car when i bought it.
