My left front and right rear speakers dont work. I removed the left door panel and tested that speaker on my home stereo, it works. I then removed the back right panel and tested that speaker with home stereo, it works. I checked the connections at the deck and they look fine. My right front and left rear work fine. Any ideas as to why they dont work?

theres either a problem inside the headunit resulting in no output or theres a crimp somwhere in the wiring causeing a short. its one of those two. heres how to tell:

first, go behind the headunit and tap into the wires for whatever speaker isnt working. using a multimeter set on "a/c voltage" test to see if you get any reading (it doesnt matter what it says, just that there IS one). it doesnt matter with test probe (red or black) goes into wich wire. if you get a reading there, go back to the speaker, and unhook the terminals that connect to it. test they same way. you should not get any reading. this means you have a crimp somwhere in the wiring between the headunit and the speaker. if you initially do NOT get anything from the test right at the deck, there is an internal problem.

if you dont have a multimeter or dont feel comfortable doing the above test, theres another way. use an old speaker (or new one, whatever you have ;) ) in place of the multimeter. if you hook up the speaker stright to the back of the deck and it works, you know theres a problem in the wires somwhere. if it doesnt work, the problem is inside the headunit.

I tested the wires right at the deck and they didnt work. Now i will have to replace the deck. Thx for your help.

no problem. ;) sorry to hear about that though. its rare to have a headunit burn out its amp, make sure that theres no blockage above it that would interfere with heat transfer (i.e., dont mount an EQ right on top of the headunit). good luck!
