IMO go with DEI, as most alarms nowadays are made by them anyway.

Never heard of that brand. As a DEI installer, I of course will recomend them. They have a new remote start, and alarm combo unit out, with an LCD display. It gets awsome range, and looks better than that one IMO. It has a great warrenty, and is one of the best units out there now. ONLY DEI now has FCC approval for a two way transmitter unit out there now. All other two way systems are not FCC approved, which means its one, illegal, two, can cause interference with othere RF devices. We sell the new "Responder" systems for around 450 bucks installed. Well worth the money IMO. Its a very nice piece. I'll be installing one on my car in the near future, for a much better price though :)

Well I cant really send you a price list, because most DEI dealers will not sell product off the shelf uninstalled. You may be able to find a shop that does, but as far as i know, DEI doest want dealers to do that, mostly for installation and warrenty issues. You will just have to call around. I would figure the unit itself will sell for at least 300 bucks, uninstalled. Thats just a guess though. Its a pretty time consuming install, so if you are not really familar with the electrical systems in the car, you may want to have it installed by a shop. There realy isnt anything too tricky about our cars though, so its not too bad. The best alarms arent shit if installed poorly. Its all in the installation.

Your best bet is ebay or something for a DEI alarm. If a shop sells them without installing it, first of all your warranty is gone. Second if DEI finds out the shop is selling them outright they risk the chance of losing the DEI product line in their store. and I don't know about where you are, but around here most stores only sell DEI products, and maybe a few alpine.

I got a responder with remote start, the stuff it comes with (pager system, alarm, etc.) installed for around 600+tax. I am waiting on my blue LED scanner. :P Here's a horribly blurry pic:

Honestly, anything but DEI is junk! Spend the extra for it!

I had a black widow. JUNK. It crapped out after 2-3 years. Not THAT bad, but it should still be on the car imo. It started making dial-up modem sounds and shit going down the road. Embarassing crap. I had it taken out and got my new alarm. The responder is badass man. I start my car from across campus that way it's warm inside by the time I get to it. :)
