well all of my stuff got stolen and i need a new cd player quick. having no radio is torture, and i need one for less than $200 because insurance covered nothing. im thinkin about Sony or Pioneer or maybe if i can find a cheap Alpine, and i would like a detachable face plate. $200 or less than TIA pics would be greatly appreciated :)

Under $200 will limit the quality of the h/u that you will get. Personally, I feel that Alpines have the best sound quality, but you have to get into the $279 price range (APN CDA-7892) before you really benefit from their performance features.

If you are looking to keep the money under $200, it really won't matter which h/u you choose, because they all pretty much use the same processor chip. Find one that has the features you like and looks good.

Consider spending a few extra dollars and look into the Alpine that I mentioned. For the money, I feel it is one of the best sounding units on the market.

See you in the lanes!!!:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Definitely Alpine is the way to go. IMO, you're better off with a mid-high level Pioneer, than a low level Alpine. With Alpine's higher end radio's, there is no comparison.

I just picked up a Pioneer DEH-P6400. I'm REALLY happy with it. I was looking for an EQ before I installed it, and I don't think I need it now. It has alot of features you can use to really fine tune your sound. For the first time, I'm really close to being satisfied with my system.

Ebay has them for under $200

I have a Kenwood Excelon, and would have to disagree with everybody saying that Alpine is the best.I have had Alpines before (7874&7592) and switched back to the Kenwood.I hate how Alpine over-emphasizes the high end i think the sound tinny, and the Kenwood has a constant, rich sound to it.Back on the $200 subject, they are all prett6y much the same.Just pick one that gives you the most features for the money.
