Im looking at 2 12" Alpine Type Rs 4ohms, and here ar the local circuit city you can get both of them for close to $300, then I look on Ebay and you can pick them both up for about $230+shipping. The price difference is nice, but the only thing im worried about is warranty. Like what if later the subs like jus stop working for sum odd reason, if I bought them from circuit city I could just drive up there and drop them off, but if I got them online, I would have to ship them back to ALPINE not the ebay auction...so that would suck...what would you do? Or should I not even have to worry about warranty, cuz these are Alpine...they probably wont bust right as long as I dont push them hard...whats the risk that they are actually gonna blow right?

if the 230 doesnt include shipping, thats going to be at least another 30 dollars or so plus the inconvenience of having to wait for them. might as well get them from CC.

if you dont abuse your speakers they'll be fine, I bought mine from online, got 2 12 inch Kicker comp VR's and they hit like a mammoth, just go listen to differnt ones at stores and see which one you like, then buy online

I have always bought my equipment online and as long as its in a sealed container you will be fine. Plus if you really had to replace them just buy another set at circuit city and return your old ones the next day......

Buying electronics online will usually void the warranty. Be extremely careful when purchasing products online and only buy products from sites that have warranty.

Buying the subs at Circuit City will allow you to purchase the Performance Gnt, which covers the subs in case you blow them.

i have bought 3 subs and some other shit online, i have been lucky, and it doesnt matter as much as how hard you push them compared to how you have them wired, your box, the way you play them is a tiny factor is a bigger scheme of things

Yeah, go with CC and pay the extra $20 for a performance guarantee...no shipping, no dropping off, blow them and we fuckin hand you a brand new one (as long as it tests blown). It's the coolest thing ever with speakers.

I'd never buy any audio off ebay or other internet retailers. The main reason it voids the warranty. Also, I have "heard" that the manufacturers will not cover it unless it was sold from an authorized dealer. I've only bought my stuff through authorized dealers and will continue to do that. I had 2 JL 12W0 and one blew, I took it back to the shop I bought it from and it was replaced within 30 minutes of it blowing. I would rather pay more money at a shop and have the peace of mind knowing that if something happens to it, it'll be covered.

I always bought my subs at a store last time I ordered speakers from e-bay they were both busted. you'll love the subs, there awesome since I got mine all my friends have been selling theirs and buying the typeRs , but get ready to shell out some cash though I ended up paying 1,250 and thats with one amp the people at Circuit city advise me to run two MTX class D which is about 775 watts well if I got2 it would have cost me another 400 dollars which would be 1,550 plus the other stuff I would need but one amp pushes hard for me. I have people with 15's asking me if I had 15's in my car thats about how loud mine will get. But they are good quality subs .
